Revisions

Now that I am deeper into the assignment I am realizing that my topic is less of a researchable topic and more of an open-ended essay. Originally I said that I was going to research how the fast food industry sacrifices animal rights and regulations in the pursuit of making the best tasting food in shortest amount possible. I now realize that the way I worded this is incorrect. It makes it seem as if I am going to just put information onto a piece of paper, instead of what I am supposed to be doing, which is researching a topic that I will come to a conclusion about via research. Therefore I am going to research "is it ethical for fast food producers to make their food in the manner that they do?” I believe that this is a much better topic because it allows me to come to a conclusion on a particular problem. With this change now my essay is going to have a purpose and not just typing in information into a word document. There is also a lot of information on the web and other sources that I can use that will build on my topic.

Starting research

In the past week I have decided that my topic is going to be how the fast food industry sacrifices animal rights and regulations in the pursuit of making the best tasting food in the fastest amount of time possible. I've decided that this is the perfect thing to write about because it is a topic that I care about, making it will be interesting to write about and there is a plethora of information on the internet and movies about this topic. This week I also started to actually research the topic so I know a little bit more about it. In just about ten minutes of browsing the internet I found some horrible thing that they do to animals. For example they throw live chickens into boiling water in order to get the feather off. The employees that work where they do this are also very cruel. They view the animals lives as nothing, so they hurt and torture the animals. I found this information of a website that exposed the bad practices of the food industry. The website was run by the animal rights group called PETA and was called "mccruelty.com". I do understand that this website is biased, but all in all it is still a good source of information. It biased because McCruelty.com is put out by PETA which is a group that is very against animal cruelty and they will try to put a stop to it by almost any means possible.
